  9.        BACKGROUND
  10.        
  11.        When Stacker swaps your drives, it looks for a Windows permanent
  12.        swap file (386SPART.PAR) in the root directory of the drive being
  13.        swapped. If it finds this file, Stacker then looks for the
  14.        Windows directory  to find the SPART.PAR file. If Stacker doesn't
  15.        find it, you see the following message:
  16.        
  17.          SSWAP Warning: Located a Windows permanent swap file on a disk
  18.          to be swapped, but could not find the Windows file, SPART.PAR,
  19.          pointing to it.
  20.          Press any key to continue...
  21.          
  22.        SOLUTION
  23.        
  24.        You'll have to edit the STACKER.INI file on your uncompressed
  25.        boot drive.
  26.        
  27.        To determine the uncompressed boot drive letter:
  28.        
  29.         1. At a DOS prompt, type:
  30.        
  31.                STACKER <Enter>
  32.        
  33.         2. Examine the line that starts with Drive C:.
  34.         3. The STACVOL file name at the end of this line includes the
  35.            uncompressed drive letter (E:\STACVOL.DSK indicates drive E).
  36.             
  37.        To edit the STACKER.INI file:
  38.        
  39.         1. At a DOS prompt, type:
  40.        
  41.                STACINI x: <Enter>
  42.        
  43.            where x is the letter of the uncompressed boot drive.
  44.            The file contains switches, followed by Stacker drive
  45.            specifications. It looks something like this:
  46.        
  47.                /P=1
  48.                /DIR=C:\STACKER
  49.                /RP=2
  50.                C:\STACVOL.DSK,SW
  51.                D:\STACVOL.DSK,SW
  52.        
  53.         2. Use the down arrow to place the cursor at the beginning of
  54.            one of the switch lines (they start with /).
  55.         3. Press ENTER to insert a new line.
  56.         4. Insert the following switch on the new line:
  57.        
  58.                /W-
  59.        
  60.         5. Use CTRL + Z to save the change and exit.
  61.         6. Restart your computer. The error should no longer appear.
